Ant-Man ANT-MAN is funny, exciting and quite enjoyable! Treading the line between the funny and the exciting with notable dexterity, this latest entrant in the Marvel illustrious series provides ample thrills, albeit on a smaller scale and intellect than usual. With a charming performance from Paul Rudd, this film is an extremely riveting 2 hour affair that’s worth a watch! The story follows the life of master thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, he must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Ant-Man is easily the most enjoyable, unashamedly fun and least pretentious superhero film to emerge from the computer-generated clutter of the Marvel movie universe. Like its predecessor, "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Ant-Man" plays with the Marvel universe without upending it. It manages to make fun of the superhero genre while still fully embracing the emotions that make the genre powerful. It definitely isn’t the most content-driven superhero film from marvel, nor does it involve large scale destruction, but it surely is super-fun. CGI is marvelous, and the creative presentation is truly inspiring. But it’s the consistent humour that makes this film gratifying. The performances from all actors are great. But it’s Paul Rudd who’s irreverent charm coupled with the contradictory image of a pint-sized superhero that makes the highlight of this film. In all, ANT-MAN is light ad entertaining and makes for a great weekend watch. Go for it!
