Dabangg 3

DABANGG-3 is out-dated, and a massively tiring bore!

Puerile humour, exaggerated action, clueless script and a tiringly long runtime, together form DABANGG-3. The overused formula of a Salman Khan film, no longer appeals, and eventually DABANGG-3 turns out to be the poorest film in the franchise. Not worth your time and money!

DABANGG-3 marks the return of India’s most loved cop character – CHULBUL PANDEY.

It’s sad to see what has come to be of perhaps the most loved character that Bollywood has ever seen. It’s embarrassing, to say the least, seeing Chulbul Pandey do what he does in DABANGG-3. His Signature moves seem forced and unnatural, his humour seems dated, and his over-the-top action scenes are indigestible. Director Prabhu Deva’s style of crude screenplay totally kills the character and the mood of the film. The fun element of Dabangg, is turned into cheap antics which repel, and the incisive characterisation of Chulbul Pandey is turned into broad strokes of caricature. What started off in 2010 as the biggest franchise promise of Bollywood, has gradually degraded and finally deceased.

The writing credits have gone to none other than Salman Khan himself, and frankly, the film looks like a shitty 80’s drama. It’s almost 2020, and it’s a shame that we’re still making such cinema at such an enormous scale. I hope that people stop encouraging such cinema, for the better of Bollywood. The songs sound decades old, the screenplay is regressive and the look, feel and style of film-making is totally obsolete.

The acting department is totally ridiculous. Salman Khan, who appears in every frame, needs to rejig his entire on-screen persona, to remain relevant today. The audiences have matured, and you can judge that by the muted whistles in the theatre. More films like SULTAN, I’d recommend. The other actors are hardly worth a mention.

To sum up, DABANGG-3 is a sad moment for Bollywood, as it makes Salman Khan and Chulbul Pandey seem irrelevant and uninteresting. Boring and not even worth your free time. Avoid!
