“DEADPOOL” is exciting, cheeky and too much fun!

With irreverence hurled with every dialogue, this kickass superhero genre is a first in more ways than one. Amazing CGI, consistently effective humour and brilliant pacing, make this film score exceptionally high on the ‘coolness quotient’. This marvellous new franchise from the Marvel Studios makes for a super-fun watch this weekend for all urban adults out there. Strictly a non-family film!

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

This joyously profane superhero film is a “fourth-wall-busting” actioner that’s extremely funny and immensely riveting. This franchise starter changes the formula of the conventional superhero-cinema and presents to you a brash anti-hero who you care for.  Deadpool is obnoxious and infantile and is constantly in danger of nullifying the entire movie, but you still get a pretty big kick out of it. There's great humor from beginning to end with action sequences that are on par with the jokes. Basically, it’s everything you've hoped for and more.

Despite some notable flaws, “Deadpool” is just what superhero cinema needs. It's a shot of adrenaline directly into the Marvel nervous system. It exuberantly embraces the conventions of the super-hero genre while fearlessly pricking the more pretentious conventions of same. The VFX is top-notch and the musical score is brilliant. Another big plus is its fast-paced screenplay that flips adeptly between the primary two scenes – the-all-important backstory and today.

Talking of the performances, I would like to say that Ryan Reynolds has finally found a vehicle worth his talents. He alongwith Morena Baccarin look sexy and their love-story is aided by some superb melodies. All others are terrific too.

In all, this comic book superhero comedy is just plain super-fun. It’s a raunchy movie that parodies the whole genre while still honoring it. Go for it!
